The Story

The attack was only the beginning.

During the July Fourth holiday, a car bomb detonates outside the Harley-Davidson Museum, killing and injuring American civilians and setting off a federal manhunt. FBI agent Fred Jones has already captured one of the men tied to the attack when the investigation widens beyond a conventional terrorism case.

Fred is paired with CIA officer Sophia Evans, whose analytical instincts and field training come with baggage of their own. Their target is Amell al-Gahrsi, leader of the Abyan Islamic Army, a terrorist organization promising that the first strike will not be the last.

As the pair follows the trail from American cities toward the organization behind the attack, the case becomes more dangerous, more personal, and far larger than either of them expected. Stopping the next strike will require two very different investigators to learn when to challenge each other—and when to trust each other completely.
